Why LCG

Locators and surveyors, under one roof.

Underground assets are hidden, congested and often poorly documented, and the cost of a missed or mislocated service is severe. LCG brings together qualified locators and professional surveyors who not only investigate and mark utilities, but translate that information into engineering-grade data your design team can build on.

A few questions, answered

Common questions.

What is Subsurface Utility Investigation (SUI)?
SUI brings together accredited utility locating, engineering-grade survey, non-destructive excavation and concrete scanning to build a complete, verified picture of what lies below ground. LCG combines qualified locators and professional surveyors so located assets are translated into engineering-grade data your design team can build on.
What does AS 5488-2022 QL-A to QL-D mean?
AS 5488-2022 is the Australian Standard for classifying subsurface utility information. QL-D is the lowest confidence (desktop/records), QL-C and QL-B add field survey and detection, and QL-A is the highest, delivered by physical verification through non-destructive excavation. Every LCG investigation states the quality level per asset for a defensible record of data confidence.
What accreditations does LCG hold?
LCG is Transport for NSW and Sydney Water accredited, a CERTLOC Certified Locating Organisation and a Telstra Accredited Plant Locator, with team members holding NULCA and Rail Industry Worker accreditation. Locators and surveyors are accredited to TfNSW G71 & G73, and surveys are certified by LCG Registered Surveyors.
Where does LCG operate?
